Translation or Interpretation Help

Many records, especially Catholic, are written in Latin, presenting a slight obstacle. Whatever the religion, chances are you'll have to deal with reading a foreign language (and possibly a different alphabet) at some point in your genealogy research. Even very old British church records can be tricky to understand at times. Here are a few sites that will help you quickly decipher the hidden clues lurking in those foreign language church records:
  • Links to online dictionaries, including many foreign languages: http://www.yourdictionary.com
  • Cyndi's List of language and translation resources: http://www.CyndisList.com/language.htm
