Brigham Young: Prophet, Colonizer, Patriarch

In 2001, BYU's Continuing Education Department, the Religious Education Department and the Joseph Fielding Smith Institute for Church History held a conference. The topic was Brigham Young, his legacy, and impact on The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and its history. Various scholars spoke about various aspects of Brigham Young's life and philosophy.
Carl Block and Bertel Thorvaldsen

Some of the most common images of Christ associated with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints are those by two Danish artists who likely never had contact with Church members: Carl Heinrich Bloch and Albert Bertel Thorvaldsen.
Leslie Norris

Leslie Norris is the highly acclaimed Poet-in-Residence and humanities professor at BYU, but before he came to the towering mountains of Utah, he grew up among the emerald hills and misty skies of Wales.
