Renowned bandleader Lawrence Welk began his own variety series in 1955... and it has never stopped running. Each program was straightforward musical numbers from Welk's band (many of which had featured solos at one point or another), as well as vocal selections and dance numbers from the show's cast.

Big City USA
Favorite songs that represent cities, states, and other geographical sites are featured in "Big City, USA." Spotlighting the East Coast are Lawrence and the Band as they swing to "Manhattan." Bobby and Elaine keep those "City Lights" algow and Jimmy Roberts sings "I Left My Heart in San Francisco." Kathie Sullivan takes you "Kansas City" way and the Band and Singers close the Show in that windy city of "Chicago." Guest: Bobby Burgess.
Songs of Jimmy McHugh
A 1980 salute to the songs of Jimmy McHugh...ranging from Lawrence leading the Band in "I Feel a Song Coming On" to Guy Hovis and Ralna English singing "Maggie Blues." Other McHugh hits include "When My Sugar Walks Down the Street" and "Don't Blame Me." The entire cast knows "A Lovely Way to Spend and Evening." Guest: Ralna English.
Say It with Music
This Welk program from 1971 opens on a musical high-note with the band and "Say It With Music." Bobby and Cissy dance to the Mancini hit song, "Moon River," and Champagne Lady Norma Zimmer performs a heartfelt rendition of "I Asked the Lord." Myron Floren is featured with the band in "The 12th Street Rag," and Bob Lido, Mary Lou Metzger and the Hotsy Totsy Boys are "Runnin' Wild." Guy and Ralna performs "True Love." Guest: Dick Dale.

Fashions & Hits Through The Years
Chronicles the changes in fashion coupled with changing musical styles from the 20's through the 50's with songs like "Alice Blue Gown" by Norma Zimmer. Mary Lou Metzger joins Bobby Burgess, Jack Imel and Charlie Parlato in a charming novely number, "Sam, You Made the Pants Too Long."
